What a triple treat of exhibition gallops. Starting with the grand mare More Joyous, a very relaxed mare, she glided across the turf as she always does. I so look forward every time she resumes for a preparation, a special mare I hold close and I'm sure she can add to her amazing record once again.
Fabulous to see the hulking Hay List back on a racetrack, this courageous horse has fought so hard, his career full of injuries, illness and even deaths door . The love of a thoroughbred is no more apparent than the dedication of the McNairs to nurse him back to this very day.
There was much antipation for the gallop of Carlton House, Her Majesty's horse, trained by Gai. He was joined by Melbourne Cup runner-up Fiorente . CH got the better of Fiorente by the latter stages of the gallop. I would never have thought I'd be photographing a "royal" horse, let alone one in our own backyard !! The silks on Nash were very dapper and stood out in the sun, nice for photos !
